This is the proposed cover for the first Daisy mystery, Death at Wentwater Court, in Polish translation.

What do you think of it?

Calling her Daisy D. gets around the difficulty of pronouncing Dalrymple in Polish, which I was wondering about.

Below, you can see the various incarnations of Death at Wentwater Court, for comparison.

HEIRS OF THE BODY, the next Daisy Dalrymple mystery, is finished and "in production" (publisher-speak) at last. There were times that I thought I'd never finish it!

Due out in December in US and March (?) in UK.

Look for news of more Daisy coming up....

Amazon review:
5.0 out of 5 stars Sparkling Regency romance April 21, 2012 By Damaskcat Format:Hardcover

I have been a fan of Georgette Heyer's Regency romances for many years and I tend to measure any other novel set in that period against Heyer's incomparable work. Most are found wanting but I really did enjoy this Regency romance from Carola Dunn. Alison Larkin lives in the unfashionable Great Ormond Street with her three elderly aunts when the fourth aunt, a widow, returns from a lifetime in India. Aunt Zenobia Winkle has inherited a fortune and is determined to help her remaining family who are currently living hand to mouth and just managing to make ends meet.

Aunt Zenobia arranges for Alison to have a London season so that she can try and attract the attention of a Lord. Alison - who reads romantic novels - likes the idea of having a Lord in love with her. What happens when she meets Philip Trevelyan - who is most definitely not a Lord - as well as several men who are - makes for entertaining reading.

I read this book almost at a sitting and loved all the characters - even the villains. The gang of small boys is very well done as are the non-human character especially the dog, Midnight. The dialogue sparkles and the plot is interesting. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Georgette Heyer but hasn't found any other author writing in the genre to be quite as good.

<![CDATA[Daisy in Audio]]>Sat, 16 Mar 2013 18:52:36 GMThttp://caroladunn.weebly.com/1/post/2013/03/daisy-in-audio.htmlPicture
As many of you know four of the Daisy books are available in Audio, the first three and Fall of a Philanderer, which was the latest when they were done.

I'm pleased to report that AudioGo (who took over Blackstone, the original publisher) have made an offer for 4 more of the series: Murder on the Flying Scotsman, Damsel in Distress, Dead in the Water, and Styx and Stones.

No idea when they'll be out, but Happy Listening!

<![CDATA[Daisy in Polish]]>Sun, 10 Mar 2013 23:43:41 GMThttp://caroladunn.weebly.com/1/post/2013/03/daisy-in-polish.htmlThe first 10 Daisy books have been sold to a Polish publisher. Can't wait to see how Daisy looks in Polish!

Daisy in Polish is Stokrotka. I can't help hoping they don't translate her name--and wondering how they'll pronounce Dalrymple!
